Located at 1240 Normal Road in DeKalb's north corridor, this new building will serve approximately 450-500 students. Similar to Cortland Elementary, this will be a three-section school, meaning there will be three classrooms of kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades. It will also have four additional classrooms that are available for growth and for a variety of uses.
There will also be dedicated spaces for staff to hold restorative conversations, spaces designed specifically to accommodate services for students with special needs, a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) classroom, dedicated art and music classrooms, outdoor learning and innovation pods (open group learning space) for grades 1-5.
